How can she be 4??

Is it really possible? Could it be that my little Daffy is 4 already? Wow where did that time go! I remember her birth so very well (or at least the part I was awake for!) Her birth was my easiest. I was drugged so well I slept through most of the labor. JD even watched football! She was the best baby. Slept well. Ate well. Pretty easy going.

She has grown up into such a fun little girl. Yes she can be stubborn....very stubborn in fact. But she can also be just the most adorable thing ever. Her little sweet smile can melt anyone's heart. She is definitely a girl with her own mind. We just love her to pieces.

This year she technically got to celebrate for 3 days. She wanted to go bowling and to E I Donald's (McDonald's) so we took her on Saturday. Sunday we had people over for her cake and ice cream because JD had to work Monday which was her actual birthday.

Her new birthday outfit Daddy picked out for her.
Opening her presents Sunday morning.
She picked out her cake....Hannah Montana. Silly girl.
Going bowling. She had so much fun.

Tuckered out little girl on the way home

The new outfit Great Grandma Taylor got her.

Hannah tried her best to get a picture of me and my Daffy together but it just didn't work out. Oh well this is what we got.

First of all I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas like we did. Second, I do not understand but I cannot rearrange the order of these pictures. So once again they are backwards.

JD decided this year that Hannah needed a pink BB gun. Because of course all almost 7 year olds need one of those right? The strange part is I didn't think she would get very excited about it but boy was I wrong. She loved it! In fact today they had to go out shooting. I am pretty excited about it though. We love to go target shooting and now she won't steal my .22 from me!

Kenzie on her new big wheel Santa gave her.

Daphne got a karaoke machine from Grandma and Papa and all of the girls just love it. After we got home from christmas dinner they all got in their new tutu's and gave us quite the performance!

Love the headphones?? Hannah and Daphne got new Mp3 players and so we got them the old fashioned headphones since the earbuds were just too big for their ears. I just adore this picture of our little Druzella!

Hannah and her BB Gun. Seriously I think this was what she got the most excited about.

Daphne and her new cradle Santa brought her.

On the charts finally

Kenzie went in today for her 2 year checkup. (Did I mention I can't believe she is 2 already) Let me start by saying I was completely shocked at her appointment. For the first time in an extremely LONG time she is actually back on the charts. Her height and her head circumference have always been but her weight has been a different story. We have struggled her entire life to put weight on her. At one point about 6 months ago we even went as far as having running up a huge bill on blood tests to make sure everything was ok. She seems to be perfectly healthy but just a runt of a thing. Today she weighed 24 pounds 7 ounces which put her at the 10th percentile. Yes I know what you are thinking....she is tiny. And I would agree with you. However 24 pounds for her was a huge improvement over last time. I suppose you must also take into consideration that when she was born she only weighed 5 pounds, 4 ounces. All in all she really has grown a ton and we absolutely love her to death!

Rock Stars

Have I ever mentioned that my girls are...well...a bit silly? Last night the girls were playing and this was their idea of being rock stars. Apparently their rock stars live in flower gardens.
This morning Kenzie was doing her impersonation of a rock star as well.

Oh and this is just to prove that at least one of girls visited Santa this year. Hannah and Kenzie both have an extreme phobia of the jolly man so we try to avoid him whenever possible. Daphne is usually willing to try something at least once.

Kenzie's 2nd Birthday

My tiny little angel turned 2 this past Friday. I can't even begin to tell you just how old it made me feel. She is our last one and therefore I want so desperately to keep her a baby but I know that I can not. We celebrated her birthday the day before (since her Daddy was working on her actual birthday). She was so stinkin' grumpy I couldn't even get her to look at the camera. She just cried the majority of the day and even cried as we sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

For some reason I cannot figure out how to switch these pictures into the correct order so you will just have to go along.

These first pictures were taken on Friday (her actual birthday). Now don't let the smile fool you. She was just as grumpy Friday as she was Thursday. The only reason I FINALLY got a smile out of her was because her dad had just got home from work and apparently she was super excited to see him. Me she screams at....but for him big smiles. Yeah doesn't seem fair to me either.

Friday night Hannah and Daphne sang at the community christmas program. They were of course adorable. The program was...well...interesting to say the least.

Yep...this is my girl. This is how she looked the entire two days. JD said I shouldn't post this picture but I figured everyone else saw her this way so it is only fair.

She started to cry when we were singing to her so Hannah and I had to help blow out her candles.
Oh yes I almost forgot! She was happy for a brief moment when her cousin Braydon was over here playing with her. She definitely loves him.

Her cute cake.
Even though she is a grump butt I wish I could freeze time and keep her just as she is right now. I remember my mom always telling me to stop growing when I was little and now I completely understand what she meant. Stop growing up already!!

Daffy-isms

I really do plan on posting a super cute picture of Daffy with Santa but for now I cannot figure out how to get my scanner to work. Until then I figured I would at least share some cute stories.

Our little Daffy....oh I don't even know where to begin with her. She is that kid that looks so adorable and innocent but you know is secretly hiding something. Just in this past week she has let a few things out of her mouth that were....well...interesting to say the least.

A few days back she wanted to get on a chair that Kenzie was sitting on. So she turned to Kenzie and said "I will knock your ass to the floor!" I know, I know I really shouldn't chuckle but I am sorry I just couldn't help it. I did get after her about it but as soon as she wasn't looking I laughed so hard. Btw....it is totally JD's fault that she knows such things!

Today was another classic Daffy moment. On the way home from preschool she was talking to her cousin (which is always interesting). He asked her if she remembered to rip a link off of the paper chain to countdown to Christmas. Her response: "No, my mom sold it on ebay so we could have some money." Hmm....perhaps that means I spend too much time on ebay?

What a precious girl!

New Do

I know this probably isn't a big deal to a lot of you (especially those with the cute a-line cut bob) but a few days ago I got my hair cut. This is by far the shortest it has been in at least 4 years. I loved it the day it was done because of course it was actually done by a professional, something which I am certainly not. I'm still on the fence about it. Knowing me in about 3 weeks I will want my long hair back! (You'll have to forgive most of these pictures since they were either taken by myself or the 3 year old)

I guess Roxie must like it! Oh how I hate doggie kises.....yuck!

Growing Up & Dance

First I have to start by saying that I have had a really rough week. Not for any reason you might think either. Monday night Kenzie slept in her big girl bed for the first time. You would think this would be exciting but it certainly is not. Kenzie was super excited....just not me.
I should rewind a few weeks first though. She use to be the child that loved her crib and would not sleep anywhere else. Then about 3 weeks ago something changed and she hated it. Hence she has been sleeping with us. After some convincing from JD I finally agreed to try out the big girl bed. Secretly though I think I was hoping that she would hate it. Kenzie is our baby and our last and because of that I am not ready for her to grow up. Honestly I love newborns the very best. And technically as long as they are in the crib and under 2 they are still a baby right? Well Kenzie now has a big girl bed that she absolutely loves and sleeps like a champ in. Plus she will be two next week. Needless to say I cried while we took down the crib and cried again Tuesday morning (after she slept quite peacefully) when I realized that she is no longer my baby. I know it seems so silly.
Daphne has become quite the big sister. Her new favorite thing is to read to Kenzie. The girls had their winter dance recital Monday night. I know I am prejudice but are they not the two cutest girls ever!!??
Hannah wanted to be sure to show off her hair so that her Aunt Cami could see it!
They both did an awesome job as always!!

Fun Stuff

I am so completely proud of Hannah that I can hardly stand it. She is in first grade this year and is learning so much. They participate in the AR Reading Program at school. As part of their incentive each student can earn a samurai (the headband) if they complete their goal of reading 80 books. Most kids try to accomplish this by the end of the year. But not my Hannah...she was the first one in her class to get hers. She was so excited when she got home from school on Thursday. I am pretty sure her excitement does not entirely show in this picture. She was literally beaming from ear to ear. We love her so much and are so proud of what a terrific student she is!!
Kenzie has not been feeling very well lately and because of that has also not been sleeping well. She was so tired today that she just fell asleep on the couch. Isn't her pillow adorable??Yes I know this is a little out of order but ran out of patience trying to figure it out. Here is my little booth at the craft fair. Next year if I do it again I am going to for sure make a cute background and create a better display. About half of the bows I took with. I think I got a little carried away.

I really did have a good time though. Hannah came with me both days and Daphne came out for a few hours as well. JD even cleaned the house while I was gone. The best part though was that it was something out of my normal routine. Plus I really do love making bows so it was a great combination for me. And don't get me wrong, the money will be quite helpful in buying me a new computer!!

End of November

Well my craft fair is finally over so now I can get caught up on my blog. To do this I have to go back to Thanksgiving. We always go to my mom's house for turkey day and then do the crazy black friday shopping (totally JD's idea btw). We had some great food and a really good time.

Hannah and Daphne holding my mom's new kitten. I would tell you her name but I don't think my crazy mother has decided upon one yet. (hint, hint mom)

My mom was trying to get a picture of all of her grandkids but wasn't very successful. She didn't get Kenzie plus she didn't know how to use my camera either! Poor Bret....he is the only boy in the bunch!!Hannah was sooo tired after playing with everyone that this is how she fell asleep.Ha ha....I had to throw this one in. For those of you that know Kenzie well you will certainly recognize this face. We get "the look" quite often from her. The very BEST part though was going with my mom to the Nutcracker ballet. We went to one of my favorite restaurants for steak and shrimp first and then it was off to the show. Thanks again mom!! It's pretty funny that I have gotten to that point now that the best date I have had in years was with my mother!!On Saturday JD's family had a little get together to play some games and eat some chili.

The kids got to make a cute little tile with their names on it. They all had so much fun!
Oh Kenzie....what a goofy kid you are!

Daffy loves her Great Grandma Taylor. All of my girls love her actually and I am so happy that have her! I don't have any more grandparents so she really is my Grandma as well.
